Dr. Webster practised for over 30 years as a police psychologist. He did clinical work and specialized in crisis management. His main client was the R.C.M.P. In 2008, at the Braidwood Commission of Inquiries, Dr. Webster was highly critical of the R.C.M.P.’s intervention with Robert Dziekanski; who died proximal to the deployment of a Taser at YVR. Dr. Webster continues to be critical of R.C.M.P. dysfunction. The Force responded by no longer hiring Dr. Webster. In August of 2012 the Force advised Dr. Webster’s R.C.M.P. patients that if they wished to continue using Dr. Webster’s services they would have to pay their own bills. In refusing to pay for their members the R.C.M.P. effectively “blacklisted” Dr. Webster. In addition, the R.C.M.P. complained to the College of Psychologists that Dr. Webster was behaving unethically by advocating for their members and not remaining objective. Following a lengthy investigation the College dismissed the R.C.M.P.’s complaint in its entirety. Dr. Webster is employed today as the psychologist in a Canadian military hospital.
