Then Privacy Commissioner of Canada ruled this matter a “serious privacy breach”. This was not a line that was nebulous but a clear, delineated line that should not have been crossed in the first place. Yet this was done at the highest levels of senior leadership within ‘E’ Division.

The RCMP response is, at best, anemic. We have seen discipline cases arise when employees have “misused” confidential RCMP systems (e.g. CPIC/PRIME) in the past and been held accountable. Where is the accountability here? The RCMP “advised (their) staff accordingly” – how weak and insufficient for such a contravention of the Privacy Act.

Are we to believe that the senior leaders involved in this debacle did not know this was “wrong”? Did they first seek out a legal opinion? Or did they simply roll the dice realizing that any fallout was worth the risk in pursuit of their case. Even when MPPAC surfaced the issue(s) there was no acknowledgement by the organization that they had mis-stepped.

Aside from no indication of any disciplinary action taken, where is the apology to the five members who had their confidential medical records compromised? This is serious business when senior leaders feel they can abrogate members/employees rights and virtually get away with it – it is a proverbial slippery slope. This type of thinking is dangerous to organizational credibility and viability.

THE RCMP HAS BECOME A SAD INSTITUTION HEADED BY A BULLY DICTATOR. THE ATTEMPTS TO SMEAR DR WEBSTER IS THE TYPICAL RESPONSE BY THE UPPER MANAGEMENT OF THIS ORGANIZATION. THIS IS THE M.O THAT IS EMPLOYED TO SHUT UP ANYONE THAT GETS IN THEIR WAY. SADLY THEY ALSO EMPLOY THESE METHODS ON THE REGULAR MEMBERS THAT QUESTION MANAGEMENT’S CORRUPT WAYS. HARD TO BELIEVE THAT THIS EXISTS IN A COUNTRY LIKE CANADA, BUT IT DOES.

They also smear the Public Service Employees in the same way,
anyone who stands in their way they will also pay the price. Doesn’t matter who you are, what you do, you are in their cross hairs.
